Privacy Policy

This website belongs to Emergency Electrician Wales, a sole-trader electrician based in Whitchurch, Cardiff. I am the data controller for any information this site handles. This page explains, in plain English, what that is.
What this site collects
This site has no contact forms, no accounts and no comments. The only way to get in touch is by phone. If you call me, I only have the details you choose to give me, and I use them to deal with your job.
Website statistics
To understand how the site is used, it loads a small statistics script run by my web designer, Studio RR. It counts page views, records which site sent you here (for example a search engine or a social site) and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer, and counts taps on phone links and other links that contact me. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device, so no cookie banner or consent is needed for it.
To count each visitor once a day, Studio RR's server combines your IP address and browser details with a random value that changes every day, and keeps only the resulting one-way code. Your IP address itself is never stored, and the codes are deleted after two days. What I see is daily totals. Nothing is sold or shared with anyone else, and none of it is used for advertising.
Studio RR processes this on my behalf as a data processor, and runs the service on Google Cloud (Firebase), whose servers may be outside the UK. My lawful basis for this is legitimate interests: understanding how my website is used.
Cookies
This site does not set cookies. The statistics described above work without them.
Links to other sites
The site links to my Google Business Profile and to Studio RR's website. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask what information I hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. To ask me anything about this policy, call 07463 916335.
